“You brought us out to rich fulfillment” (Psalm 66:12)

June 20, 2023

Our Israeli forefathers had gone through severe tribulations and predicaments which Prophet David illustrated in the Holy Bible clearly. He showed us how God took them out from the middle of Fire and Water. He said, “Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth! Sing out the honor of His name; Make His praise glorious. Say to God, How awesome are Your works! Through the greatness of Your power Your enemies shall submit themselves to You. All the earth shall worship You And sing praises to You; They shall sing praises to Your name.” Selah Come and see the works of God; He is awesome in His doing toward the sons of men. He turned the sea into dry land; They went through the river on foot. There we will rejoice in Him. He rules by His power forever; His eyes observe the nations; Do not let the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah, Oh, bless our God, you people! And make the voice of His praise to be heard, Who keeps our soul among the living, And does not allow our feet to be moved. For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us as silver is refined. You brought us into the net; You laid affliction on our backs. You have caused men to ride over our heads; We went through fire and through water; But You brought us out to rich fulfillment.” (Psalm 66:1-12)

Our Father Abraham with Children and grandchildren, migrated to Egypt as in scripted in the Holy Bible. Do we ask why people migrate? It is for various reasons. Mankind might face basic obstacles causing his migration as nourishment, attires and shelter. Whilst Jacob was unable to feed his families, he fled to Egypt with seventy households. However, since they denied him his respite, he was subconsciously not free.

Mankind could flee from a place to the other seeking God. Or else, in fleeing away from enemies. Our Holy Mother Saint Mary’s exodus to Egypt with her baby Jesus is an example to be mentioned here. Their migration was for gathering those who are lost, bind those distant and signify the second coming of Lord Jesus Christ. Our Holy Mother Saint Mary fled to Egypt for three years and six months.

When the Israel people were in slavery in Egypt for 430 years, they endured much pain and suffering, tramping or kneading mud day and night without any rest to build the pyramids. During those days Israeli mourned for many years before our mother Rachel tears brought back answer from God. She was in much sorrow as her husband Reuben died and she was pregnant expecting twins. The servant of cruel King Pharaoh made her tramp the mud instead of her husband, but then her labor came and her children came out right away. Horrific as it is, Rachel was told to knead her two children with the mud for it to be more stiff. This story is amongst the most tragic and harsh in scripted in holy scriptures. It was then that she poured her tears in her hands and spray it to the heavens.

Merciful as it He is, God looked on to Rachel and heard her plead. The Israelis were freed from slavery and retuned back to their home land. The Israeli people face many tribulations and repulsions but passed on over it by the power of God. Their leader mosses were guided by the Angel of God Saint Michael and thus did not fall under the Eritrean sea or elsewhere.

It is as same in our live these days for we are trapped in of mass problems alike the poverty, agony and distress. These are all worldly obstacles that need not hinder our spirituality but shall strengthen our diligence. It is of the essence though to seek God’s mercy and will, in search for His guidance throughout our Christian life.

It is a known fact that our life is filled with predicaments of all kinds now a day. We are trapped in this devious world. But as Saint Matthew wrote in his gospel, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28) God has always a solution and we shall have faith in Him. As He liberated the Israeli people from the slavery of Egypt, He would also free each one of us from our problems. Prophet David had said, “The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.” (Psalm 34:7)

One of the reason God created the angels is to help us people with good virtue in our spirituality. They help us in our prayer, Fasting and diligence. They sympathy us in our misery and hardship, support us to pass our test and lead us in Christian path. Saint Michael has led the Israeli people all the way from Egypt to their home land. They were able to survive the hunger, thirst and tiresome with the help of him.

The Archangel Saint Michael has also done marvelous work and performed miracles for many righteous, martyr and monks. His work is in scripted not only in the Holy Bible but also in the angles homily and in the life of Saints; Hagiography. And in these holy scriptures, we read of the Angel’s compassion, kind and merciful.

Dear breather, we need to know about this honored and celebrated archangel Saint Michael, for he is our guardian angel to plead for us mercy. We must not forget his work with the will of God so that we shall have faith in his intercession before God.

May Angle Saint Michael’s intercession be with us, Amen!
