“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth.” (John 16: 13)

By Bezawit Eyoel

It is obvious that this world is a world of laze, distant from truth, inhabited in the hamlet of deceit. Man has lost his true self and lives in lie. Lie is the biggest form of betrayal. Lie will be defeated, will distance from life. The head of sinners is deceit as it goes “You are of your father the devil, your will is to do your father’s desire”. (John 8:44)

Adam and Eve brought death upon themselves because they cooperated with deceit driven by laze and unattainable ambitions. Deceit made them forget who they are and their grace aspiring the unfeasible; becoming like God. Lie inflated through its power when they were thrown on earth away from heaven and bear children until the revelation of Truth.

Truth when revealed in human flesh, repave religion to mankind. To take part in the redemption that the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ has given to us, one must refrain from worship of witches, selfishness and adultery. As it is written, man has to stick to truth and follow God’s will. “God, our Savior who wants all people to be saved and come to knowledge of the truth.” (1st Timothy 2:4)

The mystery of God’s oneness was revealed because God has become man. The Holy Spirit was revealed to disciples appealing to bring man to this truth, is Christ; GOD who became man expressing his glory upon his death on the cross. If Christ hadn’t died for us on the cross, Holy Spirit wouldn’t have befallen. Our LORD Jesus Christ previously preached that his father Holy Spirit will come and he will become life to Holy Church, and when the truth of spirit comes, he will lead us to the all truth. (John. 16:13)

The befall of the Holy Spirit enabled us realize and believe about God becoming human and his endeavors. It is to affirm Christ with his remedy; which is why after Apostle John by his powerful word stated what we have done and said, “He depicts me” (John 16: 14). After the fall of Adam as well, with the will of the Trinity and the befall of Jesus Christ is given to us by the Holy Spirit, lifted him up for his salvation (the second nature). When he was created through accepting Holy Spirit upon his creation, the Holy Spirit descends up on the Apostles of Christ; as grace given to them.

Before His resurrection, our Lord Savior Jesus Christ gave instructions through the Holy Spirit to His Apostles to stay in unity in Jerusalem (Luke 24: 39). 120 of them were in constant prayers in the house of Mark’s mother embracing Saint Mary in the middle, Jesus Christ’s Mother. They all joined together and were constantly united in prayer along with the women, Mary, the mother of Jesus and His Apostle brothers (Acts 1: 14). As the Holy Spirit descends upon places where Saint Mary exists, as in Luke (1: 41), when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Saint Mary the baby leaped in her womb and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. As promised earlier by Christ, they were filled with the Holy Spirit as they were altogether in one place. Then, a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be sounds of fire that separated and come to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages as the Spirit enabled them (Acts. 2: 2-4).

The Holy Spirit safeguards the unity of the Church. It’s the home of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is with us to help us uncover mysteries. As Saint Paul taught us in Corinthians (2: 16) “But we have the heart of Christ.” To mean, Father God is in the altars of us, Christians and our church. When God become man in Christ, He has saved us with his suffering and death. He still does mercy upon us and reveals mystery’s through arch bishops, priests.

The Holy Spirit himself unveils enigmatic mysteries that unify us with God. When priests consecrate the holy water it turns into the water that spilled from Christ on Good Friday. New faithful, when baptized with this water gets childhood from God. The Holy Spirit changes the communion of Jesus’ flesh and blood in unexplained wonder when priests start the liturgy service. We find union with him. The Holy Spirit calls people to regret of his sins and come to confession. If man accepts the fatherly calls he gets eternal life with God. If he refuses and sticks to his faults until his death, his sins will never been omitted as there will not be forgiveness after death. “Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the one to come (Matthew 12: 32). But, for the ones accepting God, He will descend privilege and unity. If we preserve in one religion, if we live in solidarity and sacrifice for our faith the Holy Spirit gives us pardon and unity.

As our liturgical chants utter, we beg for unity saying bestow congruence upon us. If we stand and persist in unison we will be ready to be filled with the Holy Spirit like the Apostles. If we stand in unison in this world, we will stand altogether in the coming Eternal world we aspire for. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14: 17).

During, the day when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Disciples, they started to be witnesses. Saint Peter reaffirmed this was prophesied and was known to come. Peter taught the gathering that Jesus was raised from the dead as written in the scriptures. People were taken by his preaching asked what to do. “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2: 38).” In this manner, souls entered into Heaven and Holy Church avowed her witness all over the world. This manifests if man is baptized in Christianity attaining Holy Spirit as his asset, it’s possible to be witness starting from his residence into the world.

Holy Church teaches laities into getting God’s mercy and testifies to the whole world. Living in this his will and serve him, they become witness about GOD’s mercy. Praise to GOD!
