About Mahibere Kidusan
Name
The association was named Mahibre Kidusan (an association in the name of Saints) Saints would be commemorated in that they abounded the secular world and sacrificed their lives to the orthodox belief for whom the prophets prophesized and apostles evangelized.
History
In 1977 E.C (Ethiopian Calendar) few students of higher education initiated the youth in the compass to become members of Sunday school and know the teachings of the churches. Later, this effort had been strengthened by students trained in the Zeaway Hamere Berehan St.Gebreil Clergy Training Monastery by the Then Arch Bishop of Shewa Abune Gorgorious II.
The movements continued in Bilatie military camp that brought all students of higher institutions in the country in 1983 E.C after a year, with the blessing of the church fathers the associations was set up by the name “Mahibre Kidusan” under the Sunday School Department of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. Since then the associations has been proving spiritual service.

Stand
The association shall not interfere in administrative affairs of the church and it is free from and political affiliation.
Membership
- Disciples who trained in various training institution of the church and providing ministerial activity.
- Higher institution students attending Sunday in their respective parishes.
- Member of Sunday school or/and parish that provide spiritual service after graduating from higher institution.
- The laity who support the objective of the association with their knowledge, money and labor.
Structure
Mahiber Kidusan is set under the Sunday School department of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. It provides spiritual services by its sub centers in the dioceses all over the country and in the Diaspora.
The Faithful Servant
In scripted in the Holy bible, a faithful servant is one who keeps the Lord’s word in obedience and serve Him. In the parable of the talent written in Matthew 25:14-30, the story of the five servants is exemplary. For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them….
The Egyptian Nun Saint Sarah
The righteous and ascetic Saint Sarah the nun who was a native of upper Egypt departed on March 24. Her parents were Christians. They had no other children and had raised her in a Christian manner by teaching her reading holy scriptures and writing word of God. For this, she habited to always read the holy books of the Church. She frequently read especially “the biography and sayings of the fathers the monks.” She was amazed by their lives and desired the ascetic life. She went to one of the convents of upper Egypt and dwelt there for many years serving the virgins.

Dear Children! Christianity is revealed through our work. God always would like us to be good, obedient and strong. He wants us to live by His law and obey Him so that He would give us everlasting happiness. He likes His children to have good heart, smart mind and strengthfull life in which He wishes to take us to Him in the heavens where there is only happiness but not sadness, peace but not destruction, love but no hatred. So people live happily ever after in heaven. Children, amongst the deed that God love, faithfulness is one of them.
His Grace Archbishop Doctor Abune Aregawi passed away!
His grace Archbishop Doctor Abune Aregawi, the head of Patriarch’s Special Office and the Department of Foreign Relations and the Archbishop of Djibouti and Dire Dawa Diocese passed away yesterday on March 21, 2023. He was being treated within and outside the country for over a year and a half but was not able to be cured that led to his departure from the exhaustion of this world
The Mount of Olive
The Mount of Olive is the highest mountain in the suburbs of Jerusalem, 730 metres over the surface of the Mediterranean, comprising of a mountain range with three peaks; The South peak of the Ascension of Christ, around which all the Christian Shrines of the Mount of Olives are gathered. The North peak (Mount Scopus), on which the Hebrew University of Jerusalem is built. The middle peak with the Augusta Victoria Hospital dedicated to the wife of the German Emperor Wilhelm II. In Hebrew it is called Har-Hazeitim, the Mount of Olives. From the 4th century onwards, the Mount of Olives attracted many Christian pilgrims and monks, resulting to the building of houses of prayer, churches and monasteries on it. A Christian travelling book of the 6th century numbers 24 churches and shrines on the Mount.During the apostasy era, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ taught the disciples about judgment day on the mount of olive.
