“Let us now go to Bethlehem” (Luke 2:15)
Dear Children of God! how are you? How are you doing in this season of fasting? Now that it is ending and we are reaching to celebrate the Birth Day of our Lord Savior Jesus Christ, our delight is in front of us! This is the main reason we are going to tell you the story of The birth day of Our Lord Jesus Christ entitled “Let us now go to Bethlehem.” (Luke 2:15)
Little Children, after the first mankind Adam and his wife Eve ate the forbidden fruit and was punished by God when He took them out of heaven, they lived in sorrow (sadness) for 5500 years. Then, our Lord vowed to save him by saying “I will be born out of your recipient and save you.” (Clement 2:23)
This was previously foretold by Prophet Micah who said, “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.” (Micah 5:2)
Our Lord came to this world to save us from our enemy Satan who was the one that made Adam and Eve to be sent out of heaven making God angry. That was the reason they were made to live on earth and suffer most of their lives. But when our Lord become human by being born from our Holy Mother Saint Mary, He saved them from every harm and they lived in peace and happiness. For this, we celebrate the day which our Lord Jesus Christ was born.
Dear Children, is in it miracle that God who created heaven and earth as well as all creatures in the whole word became human? In witnessing this miraculous work of God, shepherds who were in Bethlehem wished to see the Baby Jesus after the Angel told them saying, “behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” (Luke 2:10-15)
The Shepherds were the first to witness the Lord’s Birth day because they are obedient, humble, kind and brave. Children, we shall learn from these shepherds and be obedient, good and brave children of God.
The Sphered witnessed our Lord’s birth and we commemorate this holiday by going to Holy Church which is the resemblance of Bethlehem where we can find our Lord. Let us take our families, neighbors and friends to be with our Lord Jesus Christ and gratify Him by praising, singing and glorifying.
Farewell children, we hope you have a nice and joyful holiday!
May God bless you, Amen!
