“Has GOD elapsed to be merciful? Has he in anger withheld his compassion?” (Psalm 77:9)
GOD’s lenience seems to congest leaving humans in curiosity of what shall transpire and his wrath reflected on the new deadly plague Corona. “For the wrath of GOD is reveled from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.” (Romans 1:18). GOD is truth and has spoken of it through his beloved Son LORD Jesus saying, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6). Christian’s rely on their faith and everyday payer’s for mercy upon earth.
Conversely as many have fallen under trap of the enemy Satan, redemption seems not to be probable. Vindictive people existing on this vain earth deceive truth and live upon evil deed. In frequently falling for their own worldly desire; their devious mind being deceitful; Despising good and detesting virtue is what led them into the devil’s nest dragging them into everlasting fire. Those fallen within the enemy scam are lost walking on death row facing tragedy of what is yet to come.
So many are lost in this vain world without the will of salvation; this era where the rage of GOD has descended upon earth, is the outcome of sinners and their deceit. The hate amongst human led to the urge of massacre killing and war between countries. Plagues alike Corona Virus and famine resulting from it reaped thousands all over the world leaving many in pain and sorrow where they couldn’t burry their beloved ones; Mothers unable to see the corpse of their own child let alone attend their burial. Mortals are once again imprisoned by their own deed, unwillingly being captured in their house taken the living free.
Pleadings, perusing Oaths, spreading of water and the burning of incense led by Orthodox Incarnation Church have being held in countries like Russia, Ethiopia and America to prevent citizens from being infected by the Virus. But, the number of infected patients is growing by each day; America lost around eighty thousand people while Italy registered more than thirty thousand deaths alike other Europe and African countries where they endure similar losses.
Though there has been cautious preservation and citizens have attempted to protect themselves from the virus using scientific methods, the degree of its contagiousness is not yet deceased. It is infecting thousands all over the world. Fear among governments and citizens is simultaneously growing and no medication has yet been discovered.
Some have wondered the ending of this plague as to gasp pure air. Remembering Saint David psalm, “Has GOD elapsed to be merciful? Has he in anger withheld his compassion?” (Psalm 77:9), humans ask how long we endure suffering and pain.
In the Book of Numbers, it is written about the Israeli people defying GOD’s commandment and getting punished. Prophet Moses leading them to the promise land was the will of GOD. But, during their journey, hunger and thirst tempts them into deceiving GOD’s word and complained to their messenger Moses, “Now the people complained about their hardships in the hearing of the Lord and when he heard them his anger was aroused. Then fire from the Lord burned among them and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.” (Numbers 11:1-2)
Then, GOD sent poisonous sneaks to bite all those sinners. “Then the Lord sent venomous snakes among them; they bit the people and many Israelis died. The people regretting their infidelity came to Moses and said “We sinned when we spoke against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take the snakes away from us.” Israelis asked for forgiveness realizing their erroneous deed. “So Moses prayed for the people. The Lord said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.” So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived” (Numbers 21:6-9)
What is ensuing these days seems not to be seized and if the punishment is yet to arise, many will die and so behold his rage. Mortality is amongst the nature of all man kinds, but may we be reminded about Hell, where no human soul can survive the fall into the deep fire, anguish and the agony, the pain and suffering of which after the LORD’s judgment is once commenced, no creature can have the likelihood of repentance and merit of his mercy. No one will be purified or get salvation.
Only few abide his words and live by his commandment. Not all have the decency to live everyday with the trepidation of GOD and carry his love in their heart. But the Gospel teaches us, “Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the LORD” (Prov.22፡17). Condemned by him, Heresies contravene words of GOD; some are stuck in the middle of being right and wrong where their mind is agitated and incarcerated. We shall ask why our prayers are not heard off or accepted; realize how deep we have fallen or what we owe our soul for redemption because our merit is deranged from our pleading. No individual has even attempted to take a step in to repentance; wish for salvation or yearn for mercy. It just looks like fear has led them into being cautious in knowing the outcome of the widely spread of the deadly virus Corona, whose fatality rate if off high rate. Citizens only fear of death that would separate from earthly life. But the truth has sparked on the whole continent signifying people’s ego in defying GOD’s commandments and weakness to diligently live in Christian life. Our sin has build a wage on our way to salvation; hence humans ought to repent and purify their soul.
