“There will be earthquakes in various places” (Matthew 24:7)

Onwards the first occurrence time up to this generation, earthquake has reached up to the scale of 7.2 and more in the last ten years. However, from 1900 E.C., its weight, amount and the damage it has on humanity, wealth and development has increased. The years from 1900 E.C. and 1949 E.C.  the last ten years, the occurrence of earth quakes has become three and more. In the 19905’s has increased rapidly, and have reached up to nine heavy earthquakes.  In the 1970’s, 125 incidents have occurred. (Grant Jeffery, The signature of God, Wheaton, I11: Tyndale publishing, 1996, 194). Identifying this situation, we can realize that the heavy earthquakes will shatter the earth.

Good Service

Spirituality in Christian life is the scarification for God and a good service is vital. A service is said to be good if it merits the reflection of spiritual life filled with perseverance of religion and diligence. It is of the essence for a servile to know the endeavors of good service. Then, whether individually or unison, all who praise His Name and live under His command in a spiritual service, presents good service. Our faith, religion, spiritual knowledge and Christian endeavors are its measurement.

His Grace Archbishop Doctor Abune Aregawi passed away!

His grace Archbishop Doctor Abune Aregawi, the head of Patriarch’s Special Office and the Department of Foreign Relations and the Archbishop of Djibouti and Dire Dawa Diocese passed away yesterday on March 21, 2023. He was being treated within and outside the country for over a year and a half but was not able to be cured that led to his departure from the exhaustion of this world

Archbishops Basilios passed away!

The Archbishops of Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo, New York Rochester Dioceses Saint Mary Monastery Monastery Abune Basilios has died.

According to the information from the office of the Holy Synod, subsequent to his death, his corpse will be brought to Addis Ababa the coming Saturday, March 18, 2023 for his funeral to be held at Menebere Tsebaot Holy Trinity Cathedral Church.

Abbot Harege Weyene Miheretu laid at rest!

The Abbot of Ziway Hamere Birhan Saint Gabriel Monastery, our father Harege Weyn Mihretu has died at the age of 99 years due to ageing, on March 10, 2013. His funeral was held in the presence of Archbishops, Department Heads of General Priesthood, Governors, family and beloved ones at Ziway Hamere Birhan Saint Gabriel Monastery on March 12, 2023.

His Grace Archbishop Yohanness passed Away!

His Grace Archbishop Yohanness, the Archbishop of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and the head of the theological College of Abune Selama Kesate Birhan in Mekelle Diocese passed away yesterday on February 30, 2023.

His funeral is going to be held in Mekelle, Adwa Debre Hamelemal Abune Afetsi Monastry in the presence of His Holiness Abune Mathias, Archbishops, Patristic Fathers and Laities today on March 1, 2023.
