“Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!” (John 2:16)

Amid the apostasy era, Lord Jesus was preaching in the City of Jerusalem to attend the Passover feast with the 12 apostles. It is in scripted as “Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business. When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money and overturned the tables. And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!” Then His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up.” So the Jews answered and said to Him, “What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?” Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?” But He was speaking of the temple of His body.” (John 2:13-20)

This is in His sovereignty and no creature could ever seize it if it is in His will.  Be it so though, every work of God is His wisdom and noble for creatures.  In the Book of Genesis, God said “Let Us make man in Our image” (Genesis 1:26) and created man to serve Him alongside angels for praising saying, “Holy, Holy, Holy.”

Holy፡ The Second week of the Great Lent

Accord Saint Yared’s “Book of Tsome Deguwa”, the second week of “The Great Lent” is known as  “Kideset” Amharic word to mean “Holy.” Holy is “purity, integrity.” This being the reason that in our Holy Church, all the songs sung and the readings during the “Divine Liturgy” are all regarding holiness.  The second Sunday of the fast is termed as “Holy” because it is a dedication of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ’s coming to earth for the salvation and blessing of mankind, to be exemplary for holiness during His coming at the apostasy era through His work and His fast which is the Great of all the fasts.

Mystical Liturgical Worshiping

The end-time will follow, with a permanent separation between good and evil, between those who will be awarded eternal life of happiness and bliss in heaven, and those who will be condemned to the fire of eternal damnation, to the eternal remorse of their conscience for having rejected God and authentic life in Him and having joined the inauthentic life invented by the devil and His servants. A new heaven and new earth will be established, inhabited by righteousness (2 Peter 3:13). The Kingdom of God will be fully established; the Church will cease to exist. Finally, the Son of God will turn the Kingdom over to God the Father, “that God may be everything to everyone” (1 Corinthians 15:28)
