Dear Children of God! how are you? How is life and education? Our Great Lord has enriched us to the third month of this year! Glory to Him! Hope you have grown spiritually and in your Christian life. It is better to learn and study well in your young age for you would be a brave, good and obedient children of God.
Little ones! If you remember, we have learned about the meaning of intercession and our Holy Mother Saint Mary’s intercession on our last lesson. On this section, we will see about the intercession of Saint Angels; be with us!
Dear Children of God! Saint Angels are creatures created for the praise in Glory of God! They praise Him saying, “Holy, Holy, Holy.” Angels will also be sent from the Lord to help and protect people. By the grace of intercession they are endowed (given) from God, they plead in the reconciliation with Him.
Let us see some evidences from the Holy books written for us. At the time of captivation of Jerusalem and cities of Judah, The Angel of God pleaded for the resolution of their tribulation. “Then the Angel of the Lord answered and said, “O Lord of hosts, how long will You not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which You were angry these seventy years?” (Zechariah 1:12)
When the Angel begged saying “O Lord”, God replied accepting the prayer of the angel. “I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy.” (Zechariah 1:16) Saint Angels pray before God. They bestow mercy to people. Those who worship God by keeping His law and order are protected by them.
The Prophet of God David in his psalm has witnessed saying, “For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.” (Psalm 91:11-12)
Children! Amongst the holy books that illustrate the intercession of Saint Angels, The Book of Prophet Daniel is one of them. We find the following holy words inside the book. Regarding the end of the world, he has told us about the protection of Archangel Saint Michael on those who have faith in God so that they would not be deceived by the evil. “At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people.” (Daniel 12:1)
Dear Children of God! our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has taught about the intercession of Saint Angels “He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’ But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.’ ” (Luke 13:6-9)
Dear Children of God! Patristic Fathers lay out their commentaries on the teachings of our Lord by examples and the grace of the Holy Spirit. The Lord of the wine is the example of God; those who are said to be without fruit, are the Israelis; The servile of the garden of wine is Archangel Saint Michael; what are stated as three years are the age of Judges, age of Kings and age of Priests. On these ages, the Lord sent teachers in teaching them but the Israelis were without goodness and fruit. When God was about to punish them, Archangel Saint Michael intercede for them and they were endowed mercy.
The other mystery about the three years, is the Era of New Testament which our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ teaching on earth. During these times, Israelis did not have faith on His teaching which is resembled by the garden of wine. Thus, the Lord was about to destroy them until Archangel Saint Gabriel’s pleaded mercy. The Angel begged for additional age for repentance. Our Lord then accepted Saint Gabriel’s intercession and forgave the people endowing them extra age for repentance.
Dear Children of God! God will have mercy on us by the acceptance of the Angel’s prayer, pleading, meditation and intercession. “Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense that he should offer it with the prayers of all the Saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.” (Revelation 8:3)
The intercession of Saint Angels bestows us mercy, repentance and blessed life. Therefore, we shall believe in them and their intercession.
