The Seventh Month

Megabit

The Ethiopian Liturgical Calendar, accord Holy Church teaching, terms the seventh month of the year as “Megabit.” The translation for the word is “the name of the month, the seventh month, the equivalence of consumption of day and night. (Book of Didascalia, page 30, Kidane Wolde Kiflae, page 577)

Other writers state the word is derived from as “he fed; he appointed;” and means of “the consumption month.” They also utter this comprehension is attained from the occurrence of farmer’s consumption of the grain from the gathered barn in this month.  (Book of Abusakir, page 49)

Aleka Desta Tekle Wolde in his spiritual dictionary translated the word Megabit as follows; “The name of the month; the seventh month; meaning it indicates the Lord, on the prayer day of passion week, fed the apostle His Holy Flesh and Holy Blood and brought back Adam by defeating at the evening time. (Desta Tekle Wolde, New Amharic Dictionary, 1962 E.C. page 746)

The foreigners call this month “Adar” named after the idol in Rome and its worshiping. It is known that the first month of the Romanians year is Megabit 25. This was the entry of their new year. The reason they made this day as their entry is due to announcement of Archangel Saint Gabriel to Holy Mother Saint Mary, for her conceiving of The Holy Son on Megabit 29. But then the Rome Catholic Church made some alteration and later on decided to make Tir 1st as their beginning of the year and still is as same.

Month of Megabit is the creation of the world. Before bringing evident biblical quote, we shall see Abusaker’s witness which people are able to count and reach, also verify. We will first state biblical quote for initiation.  The bible state, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.”  (Hebrew 13:8)

By this epistle of his, what Saint Paul revealed as “yesterday,” is the Sabbath of Megabit in which God created this world from nonexistence to existence. Because if any generation risen in any era starting from that day, return back in search of yesterday, he/she will find a yesterday which does not have yesterday.

This day which the world is created on Megabit 29 is Sabbath. It is known by our patristic fathers reaching to the Anno Mundi/ the year of the world/ (BC/the year before the Birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ/ plus the year of grace/ mercy) pulling the years alike a rob that ends at Miyazia 1st, the second day of the week, before three days of Adam’s creation. They called this day, the first of counting “ancient formula.” Because it is the day we begin to count saying “1/one.”  After receiving this day, they know the day of world’s creation is on Megabit 29 in the Year of John by the formula of Mark, on Sabbath.
