The Plant of Religion!
The marvelous work of the creator made the image and likeliness of Mankind, bonding his existence with the imprinting of religion that is our life’s base. The foundation of any spirituality is religion. It is to have faith in God and living in faith of Him. Our Saints father and mothers in creed of this mystery, shone like crystal by their miraculous work, triumphing by their fight, who are true witness of God finale inheriting the Kingdom of Heaven. We thus venerate them in our Holy Church.
Our Patron Father, the Ethiopian Apostle Saint who is named “The Plant of Religion”, Abune Tekle Haimanot is celebrated in our Holy Orthodox Tewahedo Church. The righteous father was conceived and born by the annunciation of Archangel Saint Michael on Tahesas 24, in a place locally known as “Itisa” in North Shewa Diosces from his father Tsega Z’ Ab and mother Egize Hareya.
On the third day of his birth the saint had praised Holy Trinity saying, “The One Father is Holy, The One Son is Holy, The One Holy Spirit is Holy.” The former name of him given by his parents was “Fisha Tsion” but then the Lord Himself named him as “The Plant of Religion.”
The plant of religion, Abune Tekele Haimanot, carried the gospel’s yoke, plowed our country Ethiopia by ladle of the cross, taught His holy words, made known of the true Orthodox Tewahedo Religion to the whole world, eradicated Idols and brought back many sinners from sinner path for they are endowed the Kingdom of Heaven.
