Easter Week is the week after resurrection or Easter. The days, termed by religious fathers are as follows:-
Easter Monday/Crossing/:- It is the day after Easter Sunday and is the resemblance of the salvation of souls whilst Lord Jesus Christ visited to Hell and the pursuit of Paradise. It also implies the transmission and liberation of Israelis from Egypt slavery.
According to the story in Holy Bible, Pharaoh is the example of devil, the soldiers resemble the devil’s solders, Egypt represents Hell, the Eritrean Sea is the imitation of the Hell fire, Israeli exemplifies laities, Mosses is the illustration of the Son of God, the… of Mosses is represents Holy Cross’s and the truth whereby the people of Israel entered their home land through their leader is the exemplar of souls entering to heaven through Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Exodus 1:31)
Easter Tuesday/Thomas/:- on towards Lord Jesus Christ resurrection, He reveled Himself for the Apostles but only Thomas/ was not present in the closed house. Later on, the others informed him about His revelation. Then, Thomas, one of the twelve, called Thomas, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:” (John 20:24-30)
Hereby, Holy Church reckons the day in the name of Thomas.
Easter Wednesday/Eleazar/፡- This day is named after Eleazar whom Lord Jesus Christ saved after four days of his death. Easter Friday/Church/:- Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ finished His work of salvation on Friday. The Church’s top sign as become a Holy cross and the Lord Jesus meat shattered and His blood poured on Calvary is all for her. As the entire Mystery of Holy Church is occupied on Friday, it is named ‘Church.’
Easter Saturday/Holy Females/:- Easter Saturday is for those Holy Females who followed mourning Lord Jesus Christ whilst His suffering all the way through Calvary; on His resurrection day, went running carrying perfume in celebration of His glory; and for whom Lord Jesus Christ was revealed too. Easter Sunday/ The Second Resurrection/:- This is the day for the commemoration of Lord Jesus Christ’s second revelation for the apostles in particular to Thomas who was present at the first one.
“Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.
So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”
Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” (John 19:29)
