Commemorating the Crucifixion of Lord Jesus Christ

April 4, 2022

The Redeemer Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was crucified on April 5 to whom is praised in amongst all Christians for He gave His life for our salvation. He suffered much to cleanse our soul and sacrificed himself upon the cross willingly for saving mankind.

This period of darkness lasted from the sixth to the ninth hour and in that time our Lord bowed His head by His own free will delivering up Himself soul. The sun became dark when it saw its creator crucified by His own will. He saved humans by the flesh and soul He had received from our Lady, Saint Virgin Mary. That soul was separated from its body went into Hell without separation from the Godhead.

As Saint Peter the Apostle said, “He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit.” (1 Peter 3:18) At that same time His body was hung upon the wood of the Cross, without separation from the Godhead. Similarly His soul descended into Hell. It had one nature and was without separation from the Godhead.

Therefore, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Jesus Christ, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bond servant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death even the death of the cross.” (Philippians 2:5-8)

Commemorating the Crucifixion of Lord Jesus Christ, we shall acknowledge out value as Christians with the Life He gave us upon the Cross. His Love and mercy envisioned on the scarification for the salvation of us, as it is inscripted, “When I passed by you again and looked upon you, indeed your time was the time of love; so I spread My wing over you and covered your nakedness. Yes, I swore an oath to you and entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine, says the Lord God” (Ezekiel 16:8).

Our Lord Jesus Christ gave His body and blood, to redeem us for we are is His precious children. Saint Paul says accordingly, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32)

Thus, the Cross is the remembrance of free from condemnation. It is the sign of Our Lord Jesus Christ’s forgiveness, Love and Mercy. The crucifixion of our Lord is the sole means by which our sins are forgiven. Lord Jesus dying on the cross, crushed Satan, stripped him of all power and gave us the power to defeat Satan.

May He have mercy and bless our soul by the Holy Cross, Amen!
