Archangel Saint Gabriel performed miracle for Saint Cyriacus (Qirkos) and Julitta (Iyalota) his mother on Hamele 19. When this saint was a child, and his days were three years, his mother took him and fled from the country of Rome to another country. And she found there the brother of the governor from whom she had fled, and certain men laid information against her before him, and he had her brought and questioned her about the worship of idols.
On Hamele 7, as God entered Abraham’s house and blessed him, so will He enter the houses of those who donates, present alms, welcome guests daily and as such. We have also seen His endowment of children to barren and blessing of houses. Today, we shall also feed the hungry, water the thirst, cloth the deprived, present alms, handouts and alike in the living of good thinking like Holy Scriptures teaches us.

The Feast of the Ascension is a feast in which we commemorate and celebrate the great mystery of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ ascending to the highest heavens on the fortieth day after He rose from the dead, uniting His body with His soul, by the will of His Father, by His own authority, and in the unity of the Holy Spirit. This feast, in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, is one of the nine major feasts of our Lord and is celebrated with special spiritual rites and great joy.

This was by His first coming to the world, preaching, miraculous, crucifixion and resurrection. After His resurrection, He ascended to the heavens and after ten days, Holy Spirit descend upon the disciples (apostles) by His promise, “I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” (Luke 24:49)
