Weeks of the Prophet’s Fast

The three weeks before the birth of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the prophets fast are called are called Sermon, Light, and Nolawi. These weeks reflect on three different ways in which the prophets expressed their longing for God’s salvation in this world and how our Lord responded to them.

“Strive to enter through the narrow gate” (Luke 13:24)

The Luke’s Gospel states these words of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as written in the Holy bible. Whilst He was walking in every city and village, one man asked him a question. “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?” Then, Lord Jesus said to them, “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.”

Christian Unity

The Holy Church evokes her children to live in unity, even if we didn’t come from the same tribe, nationality, speak different languages, and if we are different in age, gender, differ in our level of knowledge and wealth.

Ark of the Covenant

The Ark of the Covenant is described as the original container for the Ten Commandments and the central symbol of God’s presence with the people of Israel. Its names convey the Holy sense of God’s presence.

“The eyes of all look to you” (Psalm 145:15)

Our Hope is on Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; so, we must deem his birth, baptism, suffering, crucifixion, death, and resurrection. We must also fast and pray the fast of Prophets acknowledging that he is our hope of salvation.

The Fast of the Prophets

Merit by the grace bestowed upon them, Prophets in the Old Testament foretold the coming of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Salvation of mankind with His coming, His birth from the Virgin and baptized in the Hands of Saint John, suffer and be crucified upon the cross. They yearned for the His revelation and awaited for the fulfillment of the prophecy, fasting and praying…

Annual Feast of Archangel Saint Michael

The mighty Saint Michael as Saint Peter said in his Epistle, “Who is gone into heaven and is on the right hand of God; Angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him” was throne as an Archangel upon all the angels after defeating Enemy Satan.

Pray for Peace!

Peace does not come from us but from God; prayer and worship are the only ways to reach into that peace; but, those against it and prayers, perpetrate hate, division and violence.
