Feast of Holy Trinity

The Commemoration of the Circumcision of the Lord Christ

The Church celebrates the commemoration of the circumcision of the Lord Christ on Tir 6 to Whom is the glory. God had ordained the law of circumcision as a sign that His people would become a particular people over all others. This was that every male of the seed of Abraham be circumcised on the eighth day of his birth. God put every soul that did not obey this law under judgement.

Feast of Abune Gebre Menfes Qidus

Abune Gebre Menfes Qidus was born on 29, 829 E.C. He was an Egyptian Christian saint, and the fifth day of every month in the Ethiopian calendar is dedicated to him. In commemoration of this, we celebrate his monthly and annual feasts in our country. Tough he was born on Tahesas 29, due to the birth day of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Patristic Fathers ordered for the feast to be on Tir 5.

Anger and Its Consequences

The outrageous emotion within the human’s heart is anger since it leads to uncontrolled harmful consequences. It is therefore dangerous and sin resulting the feeling of hate, betrayal and avenge. The pupil in spiritual life are man of patience and humility but not but not violent or odious. Unwanted rage is the outcome of impatience but not proper act of Christianity. The emotion of anger arises a feeling of hatred and avenge. It changes pupil into becoming bad, contentious and devious.

Dear Children of God! how are you? How are you doing in this season of fasting? Now that it is ending and we are reaching to celebrate the Birth Day of our Lord Savior Jesus Christ, our delight is in front of us! This is the main reason we are going to tell you the story of The birth day of Our Lord Jesus Christ entitled “Let us now go to Bethlehem.” (Luke 2:15)

The Seven Covenants

A “covenant” means “an agreement, a promise” or can be “a contract” or “a deal.” It is made by God with people or can be by people with people. Our focus is on the Covenant made by God. Our Lord has made covenants with many of His beloved children, beginning the creation of the heaven and earth. As it is stated in the Book of Psalm, “I have made a covenant with my chosen.” (Psalm 88(89):3)

Good Governance and Church

Laity’s Role in Church

Fasting, Prostration and alms giving are ways of spirituality and obedience through the governance of our corporeal to our soul. Prostration is made not only by humans but the celestial (heavenly) being, The Angels. (Isaiah 6:3) It is the main aim of the two creations Angles and humans. We shall also help the weak, aid the victims of tribal wars and in trails within the Church.
