“The eyes of all look to you” (Psalm 145:15)
November 26, 2020
God is the hope of those who live in his will. Prophet David testified to his faithful God; for he has made a king and inherited eternal life, just as he lived in God’s will.
Prophets David’s word resembled the value of hope. “The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. The LORD is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does. The LORD is near to all who call on him to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them. The LORD watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy,”
The hope of men is in Lord Jesus Christ; our Lord and Savior. For he has set us free on the cross, We must live by His Word, be righteous, trust in our Lord, our eternal hope, and carry His cross. As Saint Paul sated, “Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.”
The only promise given to Adam was the promise of redemption for all mankind, in return for the salvation of the lost childhood grace by Lord Jesus and the payment of his debt. In his first letter to the Thessalonians Christians, Saint Paul spoke of the price we were paid and the hope of everlasting life.
People struggle under the most extreme situations where they face the darkness and evil of life; holding on to hope; “Moses leads the Israelites out of Egypt after 400 years of slavery; the shepherd boy David courageously confronts and defeats the military giant Goliath; the three holy youths, Shadrach, Meschach and Abednago won’t deny their faith in God and accept to be thrown into a fiery furnace, only to come out alive because of their trust and hope in God. And of course, the New Testament and Church history is filled with story after story of followers of Lord Jesus holding on to hope despite the greatest odds against them, even when darkness and danger tried to extinguish all sparks of hope!” (Exodus 12:40–41)
At a time when we are not sure if we can be sure of the future, we might not have the will or hope to see be discouraged. We long for good news, even when rumors of war are told on a daily basis. Since the purpose of our existence depends on today, we must recognize that there is a way of salvation that we can rely on and hope for. In this dark world, we can hope for the future by trusting in God and relying on him. Therefore, we need to draw close to him pleading.
Our Hope is on Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; so, we must deem his birth, baptism, suffering, crucifixion, death, and resurrection. We must also fast and pray the fast of Prophets acknowledging that he is our hope of salvation.
