The Great Fast- Part Two

March 22, 2022

Dear Children of God, Greetings to you and gratitude to Almighty God!

Children, how are you? We hope you are well!

Do you remember what we learned last time? We taught you about The Great Fast and its weeks ‘Zewerede, Holy, Mekurab and The Impotent Man.’

Today we will continue from the fourth week ‘Debereziet’ until ‘Hossana.’ So follows us attentively!

Deberzeit; Mount of Olives

Deberzeit is a Mount of Olives where Lord Jesus Christ thought the disciples about His Birth form Holy Mother Saint Mary and that He second coming to earth on Judgment day. Dear Children, Lord Jesus will come one day at the end of the world to Judge upon the Good and the bad people. He will stand the Good people at the right side and say to them, “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.”(Matthew 33-36)
But He will stand the bad people at the left He will also say to them, “Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.” (Matthew 41-43)

So, Dear Children of God, form this section, we hope you understand that God doesn’t like bad people so you have to always be Good!

Gebrehere: Faithful Servant

A faithful servant is the person who does right (Good) deeds and who is faithful and loyal to God, the Church and its family. A faithful servant is faithful on fasting, prayer, at his school or work place and in every GOD’s work on Earth.
You see Dear Children, we have to be faithful as well for God to love us and safe guard us in our whole life. So, be faithful every time!

Nicodemus: A ruler of the Jews

Nicodemus was a leader of the Jew people who came to our Lord Jesus Christ by night to learn His Holy Words. He asked questions to Lord Jesus to understand the way of God. Then, Our Lord received him and explained to Nicodemus about faith, becoming God’s children

Hosanna/ Palm Sunday
Hosanna or Palm Sunday is the celebration of Our Lord Jesus Christ’s final journey to Jerusalem riding on a colt the foal of an ass whilst the people acknowledged him as the Son of God, placing palms beneath Him. Hosanna is also an exemplary of Lord Jesus as the good shepherd who gave His life for His Children.

Dear Children, so these are the eight weeks of ‘The Great Fast.’ We hope you have understood and acknowledge them. On our next lesson we shall see the Passion week upon which Our Lord Suffered and was Crucified.

Till we meet then, farewell!

May God be with you during the fasting season, Amen!
