Part Five
Dear Children of God! how are you? How are you in this season of “Age of Revelation” where we celebrated feasts of Baptism, Canna of Galilee and the Departure of Holy Mother Saint Virgin Mary colorfully? We hope all of them were joyful for you and beloved ones! May we also remind you not to neglect the act of attending Holy Church for performing the Liturgy!
Little ones! It is necessary as well to keep the promise our forefathers in transmitting the order of the Church and the law of the Lord. This is the main reason we frequently remind you to learn the word of God within the church education. Good! Now we will proceed to this lesson’s topic which is the continual of last session’s about Holy Icons “Pictures of Salvation.” This part is considering the veneration (respecting) holy icons.
Children! Our saint fathers and mothers whilst they plead (beg) bowing in front of Saint Virgin Mary’s holy icon, she was revealed and even talked to them. She use to answer their enquiry (questions). This being the confirmation that if people pray and plead in faith of saints, before the holy icon, they hear our prayer as the Prophet David said, “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.” (Psalm 34:15)
On the other hand, pictures of salvation are painted in showing the preservation faith, spiritual work, and diligence of saints in short. Therefore, if holy icons are found in our house, we shall keep them in honorable place. We are to be honored as much we venerate the pictures of salvation.
The pictures of salvation are used to perform worship of God. We give praise, glory and present our prayer and pleading to Him for the Almighty God’s work is revealed through them. The saint’s holy icons are also venerated accord their honor and grace, we praise and plead them for we are to be endowed mercy and their blessing.
Dear Children of God! as holy icons resemble the owner saints, we have to keep them in honor. They are different from other pictures and photo graphs. When they are painted, or kept inside the church or-else in our house, they should be covered in curtain.
Farewell children, we have been learning about “Holy Icons” which are also known as “Pictures of Salvation” in five parts. The wide and deep teachings of these pictures are important and shall be kept in mind. We hope you have understood all the relevant notions and apply them in your spiritual and Christian life.
