Saint’s Intercession
Part Four
Dear Children of God! how are you? Glory to the Lord for enriching us to the “Fast of Prophets!” As you might know, this is the fast Prophet’s fasted in the hope of the Holy Son coming from the heavens and be born from Holy Mother Saint Mary for world’s salvation.
Little ones! we wish to see you become good, obedient and brave children of God through well education and hard work. We also hope you have acquired (obtained) much knowledge as well as wisdom so far by your spiritual education.
May we now remind you about our previous (last) lesson on intercession, Saint Mary’s and Saint Angel’s Intercession. And for this lesson, we will learn about the intercession of Saint Fathers and Mothers; so follow us attentively!
In scripted on the Book of Enoch, Saints intercede for us by the vow they are endowed (given) from God. (Enoch 12:34) They pray for us; Those Saints who pleaded and interceded for the mercy of others are many. It is written on Holy Scriptures (books) within the following stories about the power of Saint’s prayer and intercession. Whilst our father Abraham went to Gerara, with his wife Sarah, the King desired to wed his wife and so he took her. But then God said to him in his dreams as; “Now therefore, restore the man’s wife; for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you shall live. But if you do not restore her, know that you shall surely die you and all who are yours.” (Genesis 20:7)
You see children! The Lord told Abraham to pray for Abimelech because he was righteous and Prophet. He was told to save the King from what was to come upon him by his prayer and intercession.
Saints safeguards us from any kind of misery (pain) by their prayer before God. The Prophet David has said in his psalm, “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.” (Psalm 34:15)
Dear Children of God! Let us see another story about Saint’s Intercession. Once upon a time, the Israelis defied God’s law eventhough He fed them and do miraculous work for them. They started to worship the Idol and so God was about to destroy them. “Then Moses pleaded with the Lord his God, and said: “Lord, why does Your wrath burn hot against Your people whom You have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand? Why should the Egyptians speak, and say, ‘He brought them out to harm them, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth’? Turn from Your fierce wrath, and relent from this harm to your people. Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants, to whom You swore by Your own self, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven; and all this land that I have spoken of I give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.’ ” So the LORD relented from the harm which He said He would do to His people.” (Exodus 32:7-14) The people were saved by the pleading and intercession of the Prophet Mosses.
Another story is about the intercession of righteous Job. When his friends do harm, they were told righteous Job’s intercession was acceptable than their as, “My servant Job shall pray for you. For I will accept him, lest I deal with you according to your folly; because you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has.” (Job 42:8) The prayer is heard by God as it is by His will. “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” (1 John 5:14-15) The wish of the righteous is good only. (Proverb 11:23)
Saint’s Intercession is grouped in to two:-
Upon Carnal: – During their earthly life, God bestows us mercy through Saint’s intercession. In addition to the story we have seen above, we can mention also the story about Abraham’s intercession for the people of Gomorrah. He pleaded Holy Trinity in saving the city from totally abolishment. But, though he was bestowed good chances, not even ten people good people were found in saving the city and so the Lord destroyed them. (Genesis 18:16-33)
Saint Stephen has pleaded for the people who bit him. “Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not charge them with this sin.” (Acts 7:8)
Dear Children of God! From those people who agreed for the stoning of Saint Stephen, Saint Paul the Apostle was amongst, yet henceforth, he has repented and become the chosen one midst the twelve Apostles, even came to be called “The Light of the Church.” You see how the intercession of Saint Stephen helped Paul to repent, and become the servile of God!
Upon Eternal Soul:- The Lord does not refute (take) the vow of Saints endowed on earth after their departure. (Luke 16:19) The wealthy man, refusing to nurture the poor Lazarus in earthly life, saw him in the embrace of Abraham after their departure to heaven. Inside hell, the wealthy man was very thirsty and so begged Abraham who was in heaven to fetch him water. Then Father Abraham explained his evil deed dragged him to everlasting fire where much thirst came upon him.
However, Lazarus’s good work pleased God and now; he resides in peace and happiness. After that, the poor man begged for his five brothers who were living on earth, for they do not know the outcome (punishment) of evil deed.
Children! After their departure, Saints do not have to struggle by praying, prostrating and fasting after their departure. But, they plead and interceded for those in faith of their prayer and relying on their intercession in the commemoration of their feast day by alms giving and feeding the poor. This is done for them by their prayer, fasting and diligence on their earthy life as their work is commemorated everywhere. (Revelation 14:13) Saints Apostles have witnessed the ability of Saints knowing mysterious things even on earth and even more in heaven.
Dear Children of God! We have seen few of the wide and deep education of intercession for your knowledge and awareness. We would like to remind you that you can obtain more knowledge by asking your teachers and reading holy books.
We hope by know you have understood about the value and power of Saint’s intercession for those who believe in their prayer and interceding by commemorating and celebrating their feast day. They intercede for a person who regrets his evil and harmful deed, repent and begged by the name of Saints. “Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants, to whom You swore by Your own self.” (Exodus 32:13)
Farewell children! As we always tell you, you shall learn and study well on your spiritual education. Obey your parents and be good children of God!
May God be with you; Amen!
