Holy Trinity Visit Father Abraham<\/strong><\/p>\n

Glory to God for reaching us to the Feast of Holy Trinity!<\/strong><\/p>\n

All Christians shall commemorate the holiday that Holy Trinity visit Father Abraham with mercy and a child. The story as written in the Holy Bible is as follows. (Genesis 18:16-33)<\/p>\n

\u201cThe\u00a0Lord\u00a0appeared to Abraham near the terebinth trees of Mamre. Abraham was sitting at the entrance to his tent. It was the hottest time of the day.\u00a0\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. So he quickly left the entrance to his tent to greet them. He bowed low to the ground.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>He said, \u201cMy lord, if you are pleased with me, don\u2019t pass me by.\u00a0\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Let me get you some water. Then all of you can wash your feet and rest under this tree.\u00a0\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Let me get you something to eat to give you strength. Then you can go on your way. I want to do this for you now that you have come to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAll right,\u201d they answered. \u201cDo as you say.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah. \u201cQuick!\u201d he said. \u201cGet about 36 pounds of the finest flour. Prepare it and bake some bread.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Then he ran over to the herd. He picked out a choice, tender calf. He gave it to a servant, who hurried to prepare it.\u00a0Then he brought some butter and milk and the calf that had been prepared. He served them to the three men. While they ate, he stood near them under a tree.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>\u201cWhere is your wife Sarah?\u201d they asked him.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver there in the tent,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Then one of them said, \u201cI will surely return to you about this time next year. Your wife Sarah will have a son.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him.\u00a0Abraham and Sarah were already very old. Sarah was too old to have a baby.\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>So she laughed to herself. She thought, \u201cI\u2019m worn out, and my husband is old. Can I really know the joy of having a baby?\u201d<\/p>\n

Then the\u00a0Lord\u00a0said to Abraham, \u201cWhy did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, \u2018Will I really have a baby, now that I am old?\u2019\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Is anything too hard for me? I will return to you at the appointed time next year. Sarah will have a son.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sarah was afraid. So she lied and said, \u201cI didn\u2019t laugh.\u201d<\/p>\n

But the\u00a0Lord\u00a0said, \u201cYes, you laughed.\u201d (Genesis 18:1-15)<\/p>\n

Abraham Pleads for Sodom<\/strong><\/p>\n

The men got up to leave. They looked down toward Sodom. Abraham walked along with them to see them on their way.\u00a0Then the\u00a0Lord\u00a0said, \u201cShould I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>He will certainly become a great and powerful nation. All nations on earth will be blessed because of him.\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>I have chosen him. He must direct his children to live in the way that pleases me. And he must direct the members of his family after him to do the same. So he must guide all of them in doing what is right and fair. Then I, the\u00a0Lord, will do for Abraham what I have promised him.\u201d<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Lord\u00a0also said, \u201cThe cries against Sodom and Gomorrah are very great. Their sin is so bad\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>that I will go down and see for myself. I want to see if what they have done is as bad as the cries that have reached me. If it is not, then I will know.\u201d<\/p>\n

The men turned away and went toward Sodom. But Abraham remained standing in front of the\u00a0Lord.\u00a0Then Abraham came up to him. He said, \u201cWill you sweep away godly people along with those who are evil?\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>What if there are 50 godly people in the city? Will you really sweep it away? Won\u2019t you spare the place because of the 50 godly people in it?\u00a0You would never kill godly people along with those who are evil, would you? Would you treat them all alike? You would never do anything like that! Won\u2019t the Judge of the whole earth do what is right?\u201d<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Lord\u00a0said, \u201cIf I find 50 godly people in the city of Sodom, I will spare it. I will spare the whole place because of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then Abraham spoke up again. He said, \u201cI have been very bold to speak to the Lord. After all, I\u2019m only dust and ashes.\u00a0What if the number of godly people is five fewer than 50? Will you destroy the whole city because there are five fewer people?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I find 45 there,\u201d he said, \u201cI will not destroy it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Once again Abraham spoke to him. He asked, \u201cWhat if only 40 are found there?\u201d<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cIf there are 40, I will not do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then Abraham said, \u201cLord, please don\u2019t be angry with me. Let me speak. What if only 30 can be found there?\u201d<\/p>\n

He answered, \u201cIf I find 30, I will not do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Abraham said, \u201cI have been very bold to speak to the Lord. What if only 20 can be found there?\u201d<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cIf I find 20, I will not destroy it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then he said, \u201cLord, please don\u2019t be angry with me. Let me speak just one more time. What if only ten can be found there?\u201d<\/p>\n

He answered, \u201cIf I find ten, I will not destroy it.\u201d<\/p>\n

When the\u00a0Lord\u00a0had finished speaking with Abraham, he left. And Abraham returned home.\u201d<\/p>\n

Glory be to God, Amen!<\/p>\n
