King David wrote in psalm “The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.”(Psalm 19:1-2) Nature teaches us Gods work and His will. God created humans with the characteristics of the soul and body, in his image and in his likeness. (Genesis 1:26). The Body made of the four elements being body, Earth, Water, Wind and Fire. In Genesis teachings this is descried widely. In this short article we will the winds nature in different aspects.

The Wind and God’s Equitability

The Bible says “For the Lord your god is consuming fire, even a jealous God” as the creator of fire is described as fire, we understand God’s equitability by the wind character of human. (Deuteronomy 4:24). As a farmer identifies his products from the straw, the wheat from the chaff, the Lord our shepherd with His fair judgment will separate the sheep from the goats, the faithful from the sinners. (Matthew 3:12, Matthew 25:32). The Lord will not say you are righteous to sinners and He will not say you are sinners to the righteous. The Wise king Solomon said “When the whirlwind passes by, the wicked is no more, But the righteous has an everlasting foundation it tells the God’s imitates a whirlwind. (Proverbs 10:25)

Creation of human and the Wind

Since human is created from earth, water, wind and fire, human has the wind’s nature. The wind blows; since human has the wind’s nature humans move from place to place. He also has the breath of life that is given to him by god. The early days of a child resembles the wind. As the wind blows constantly, children also do not want to sit still. Children are fast like the wind.

The Wind and Baptism (to be born of the Holy Spirit)

The wind is invisible and where is comes from and where it goes remains mysterious. It shows us the blessing we receive from baptism is beyond our understanding. The Lord said to Nicodemus “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” (John 3:5) To show that the gifts received from baptism shall be accepted faithfully. It is beyond analysis. He has also said that “ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8) In which direction can we follow the wind? Will we benefit from it? Faithfully accepting the blessing received from the holy baptism is to our benefit. If we try to examine it will not be fruitful nor will we discover the secrets.

The Wind and sinful thoughts

The sinful thought which perverts human nature and which pushes humans to sin of speech and action resembles the wind. The Lord said “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” (Matthew 7:24-27). Our Lord exemplified the house imitating our hearts.

The Lord thought us there are and will be two types of people’s morality. Foundation on the rock and sand; the once who built their house on a rock are the once who believe in the incarnation of the Lord and who follows the religion of Apostle Peter. “Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone,” (Ephesians 2:19-20). For the faithful man the rain came, the stream rose and the wind blew but it didn’t defeat him since he followed the religion of Christ thought. In this portion of the writing, what is implied as the wind? The Patristic Father in their writings stated in the time of hardship and trial “Defy the Lord; Insult him; God will not save you.” This kind of evil thought come to our mind. This is clearly the work of the devil. (Translation of The Gospel page 95)

The righteous Job had such trials when the devil used Job’s wife in order bringing hurdle on him from his virtuous way. But his faith was built on rocks, so this didn’t defeat him. Apostle Peter said “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye maybe able to stand against wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6: 11)

The once who don’t fully give their hearts to the Lord, the once who built their house on sand will give in to the sin of thought and be defeated by the devil’s scam.

The devil creates a sinful atmosphere but doesn’t force us to commit a sin. Saint Jacob said “When tempted, no one should say, “Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.” (James 1:13-15) Thus the evil thought that are as fast as the wind should not fool us in to a worse temptation and do a sinful action. The wind is also used to describe religious scholars who seek praise of the world.

Saint Judah said, “These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots.” (Jude 1:12) As strong wind rolls and twirls a heavy object, thorns the roof of a house, sway the tree, the praise of this world is an obstacle even for religious leaders, it takes away light and puts us in the darkness where the devil, the world and flesh are in control.

Amen!

God created the wind for everything was created with a reason.
