Holy<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0The Second Week of the Great Lent<\/strong><\/p>\n

March 4, 2022 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Holy is a word that expresses the notion of purity and righteousness. All creatures of \u201cThe Holy Father, The Holy Son and The Holy Spirit\u201d shall be Holy as He created us as in His image and embodiment.<\/p>\n

The second Sunday of \u201cThe Great Lent\u201d is named \u2018Holy\u2019 since it signifies the holiness of the fast as Lord Jesus Christ fasted it. He was challenged by the devil in the dessert by abstaining for forty days and forty nights defeating Satan; thus we shall do the same. Therefore, Holiness also includes abstaining from sin and being apart from the devil.<\/p>\n

Holy is the sanctification of sins not only consisting of abstaining evil but living a spiritual life. It is to practice good deeds and become Holy by praying, fasting, repentance and the Holy Communion. It was said without Holiness no one can see God.\u00a0He said, \u201cBe Holy, for I am holy\u201d\u00a0(1 Peter 1:16) and also said \u201cbut as He who called you is Holy,\u00a0you also be Holy in all your conduct\u201d (1 Peter 1:15). The verse with the same meaning is \u201cBlessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see\u00a0God.\u201d (Matthew 5:8)<\/p>\n

Holy also represents Sabbath named by Saint Jared. His melody through this week is read as; \u201cThis day is Holy. It is the Holiday of Sabbath in which I rested. You shall be Holy for I the Lord your God am Holy. The Holy Father Honored and blessed Sabbath.\u201d All the readings, the Gospel and The Acts, the songs and preaching in this week are about Holiness.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the commandment says,\u00a0\u201cRemember the Sabbath day, to keep it Holy\u201d (Exodus\u00a020:8). This means to dedicate this day only to God. We don\u2019t do anything in this Holiday except what is\u00a0dedicated only to God, as worshipping and\u00a0contemplating in the Lord\u2019s words and its\u00a0implications.<\/p>\n
